UNESCO World Cultural Heritage SchUM - Sites in Rheinhessen
SchUM, which stands for the three cities of Speyer, Worms and Mainz, as an abbreviation of their Jewish names SchPIRA for Speyer, Warmaisa for Worms and Magenza for Mainz. The three communities on the Rhine formed the SchUM federation in the Middle Ages. On July 27, 2021, the SchUM sites of Speyer, Worms and Mainz became UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
