Camping site "Bauer Schorsch" at the Hindenburg Bridge
You want to spend the night directly on the Rhine with a view of the Rheingau and its wine terraces and yet be very close to the city center of Bingen, then the campsite of "Bauer Schorsch" is just right for you.

The campsite is located just outside the Bingen city center and culture bank. The operator "Farmer Schorsch" is known for his hospitality and his warm manner. Since 1949, the site is family-owned and the love of camping and the family nature can be felt. Situated directly on the Rhine you will find 150 pitches, about 80 of which are free for short-term campers. The sites are not reserved, so everyone has the same chance of a waterfront location with a view of the highlights of the Rheingau - the Niederwald Monument, St. Hildegard Abbey and the wine town of Rüdesheim. Up front at the entrance is the heart of the place, the restaurant where you can get home-cooked meals for lunch and dinner and homemade cakes. Especially the cheesecake is a real tip.
You will discover the secret highlight when you walk along the small path at the campsite and into the nature. Surrounded by greenery is one of the bridgeheads of the destroyed Hindenburg Bridge, which gave its name to the campsite. From here you are in the middle of the nature reserve of the Fulderaue and Ilmenaue and can walk or cycle along the Rhine. If you also want to understand the nature of the Rhine floodplains, you will get your money's worth at the nearby Nabuzentrum Rheinauen in Bingen-Gaulsheim. A bit more lively is the Kulturufer Bingen with its varied gastronomy and the magnificent view of the Rhine. You can reach it on foot or by bike in just 10 to 15 minutes.

All the information you need can be found on the website of the Camping Hindenburg Bridge. Also look in advance at the opening hours of the season.
