The Wonsheim Forest provides plenty of shade. My tip for a varied excursion: Hike here on the lovingly laid out Forest adventure trail<\/a> and learn more about the local flora and fauna. You can choose between two routes: The first is about 2.3 kilometers long, the second measures about 6 kilometers. If you want to hike both tours: No problem, the routes merge into each other. The trail offers a total of 23 information panels and stations where you can get active in a playful way. Whether you test your musical talent on the wooden forest xylophone, press animal track stamps into the sand or test your fitness on the stepped rope - this trail is fun for the whole family and ensures varied hours that you will remember with pleasure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Refreshing: Rhine cycle path with\nCooling<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The proud 1,230 kilometers of the Rhine Cycle Route<\/a>. Part of it, 90 kilometers, also leads through Rheinhessen; more precisely from Worms via Mainz to Bingen. While cycling, the wind blows pleasantly around your nose. Very refreshing, but it gets even better: You can cool off, for example, at the Oppenheim Rhine Beach.<\/a> It is located in the middle of a nature reserve. A walk through the nearby forest is also a good idea - especially on hot days. Swimming in the Rhine is not recommended due to the unpredictable currents, but you can still refresh yourself on the banks. For those who prefer to swim, I recommend the open-air swimming pools in Ingelheim<\/a> and Gimbsheim<\/a> to the heart. Also the Altrheinsee Eich<\/a> invites (experienced swimmers!) to carefree swimming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Extraordinary: Winzerkeller\nIngelheim with exhibition cellar comrades<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You can beat the heat not only in the water, but also in the cool cellars of the winegrowers: A visit to the Ingelheim Winzerkeller, for example, is therefore a pleasant pleasure, especially in summer. There, in the second basement, you can visit the free exhibition Cellar comrades<\/a> visit. The historic wine vault exudes a mysterious atmosphere; makes you want to go on a little journey of discovery. Especially the magnificent wine barrels amaze us here. But also the films, among others about the foundation of the former winegrowers' cooperative, are worth seeing. Interactive stations such as the scent laboratory invite visitors to participate. A subsequent visit to the Winzerkeller wine cellar <\/a>is also worthwhile: On offer are numerous excellent wines from the Ingelheim vintners. Enjoy a cool glass of grape juice and an interesting exhibition - it doesn't get any better than that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sporty: SUP on the Rhine<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Now we are drawn to the Rhine again; the sun is burning. If you still want to be active on hot summer days, you should try the popular water sport stand-up paddling. In the urban customs port of Mainz there are regularly SUP courses<\/a> of ONWATER takes place. The beauty is that anyone can learn stand-up paddling, no matter how athletic they are. So you don't need any previous knowledge. Before you get on the board, there will be a thorough briefing. Don't worry: beginners can feel safe paddling because there is no current in the customs harbor. After the theory, it goes smoothly into practice: Dip the paddle into the water and off you go. Whether sporty or very leisurely - this activity is always fun and it is also extremely refreshing when you let yourself glide into the pleasantly cool water after the course. You can also book relaxing yoga courses on the boards at ONWATER: This way you can simply leave everyday life behind you, find your balance and slow down wonderfully. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sociable: playing p\u00e9tanque in Ingelheim<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ingelheim is also a sporty place. You can't take it easy here - at the p\u00e9tanque, better known under the name of Boule<\/em>, the round game device is thrown namely. The club Boule-Rouge Ingelheim e. V.<\/a>  trains regularly, among other places on the fairground at the Ingelheim castle church. Anyone who likes is welcome to drop by spontaneously and join in: \"Whether young or old, fat or thin, they can all play boules. Everyone is welcome here,\" emphasizes board member Stefan Bunge. Of course, I don't miss out on a game and place my first ball. Even after several attempts, I don't get very close to the small wooden ball, the cochonnet (in German: Schweinchen). But that's no big deal; the fun of the game is the main thing. I also see this in the other club members, who don't throw their balls doggedly, but full of joy. There is a lot of laughter and passionate discussion - a communicative sport that is made for Rheinhessen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Romantic: Sunset on one of the\nenjoy one of the Hiwwel<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Towards evening it slowly cools down a bit. Now staying on one of the many\non one of the many hills in Rheinhessen is extremely pleasant: For example, on the Gigser\non the Gigser, the local mountain of Wolfsheim. In the summer Wolfsheim\nclubs and wineries cater for the physical well-being (every third Sunday in the month\nfrom 2 to 6 p.m.). You can relax on the Wingertsschaukel (swing) above the\ngarden, at various tables and benches, or on the comfortable\ncomfortable hiking lounger. I have chosen the latter and enjoy the sunset and the breathtaking view\nand the breathtaking distant view, which offers itself to me. My gaze wanders over\na sea of vines bathed in golden light; small clouds slowly pass by in the bright blue\nblue sky - what a magnificent view! A pleasant\nwind refreshes my face, which is reddened by the sun. It's clear: I have found a\nnew favorite place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
